Mission Statement
The Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge is the center of Jewish philanthropy and volunteerism in the Baton Rouge and surrounding area, the Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge is a person-to-person, community-driven organization dedicated to the health, education, spiritual, and cultural identity of the Jewish people worldwide.

The Work of the Federation
It is not easy to concisely explain all the ways in which the Federation impacts our Jewish Community. The Federation works with all levels of our Jewish Community to create and sustain a strong Jewish present and future. The local work of the Federation tends to the specific needs of our local Jewish community. Community assistance is provided through the many projects of Jewish Family Service. Also, the Jewish Federation serves as a center for Jewish resources. In addition, the Federation works to strengthen Jewish identity through education with programs such as the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge works closely with many regional partner organizations. These organizations connect us to the larger Southern Jewish community. Some of our regional work can be seen through scholarship assistance granted to many young people enabling them to attend Jacobs Camp, Kutz Leadership Camp, The NFTY National Convention, and to participate in Israel Trips.
The Federation also serves the greater good of our national and international Jewish communities. While there is much to be done here in Baton Rouge, the needs of Jews around the world, most especially in Israel, the former Soviet Union, and Ethiopia, remains great. Federation has maintained its level of funding to United Jewish Communities, our partner in providing aid to Jews throughout the world.
